Full course description
The Wallop Civic Engagement Program Team in partnership with the Trustees Education Initiative is pleased to host a virtual summer professional development workshop June 7 - 9 for Wyoming social studies and language arts teachers. Please contact wallop@uwyo.edu for more information or to RSVP.
The workshop will include some follow-up meetings as participants work in teams to contribute to the Wallop Civic Engagement K-12 Project content. Our purpose is to:
- To build a professional community among Wyoming K12 educators and UW faculty/community college/content experts
- Enhance teaching skills of participants with online learning, hybrid models, face-to-face use of synchronous and asynchronous Wallop materials, among others
- Expand content knowledge of participants
- Create new content K-12 educators and UW faculty can use in their classrooms!
We are offering a $500 stipend for teachers for participation in the workshop and content work across the summer including final project presentations in August (e.g., $250 for in-service workshop & $250 for summer work with teacher/faculty teams and final content presentations), and options for continued networking through Wallop Learning Community.
We also will have options for teachers to earn graduate credit or PTSB credit.
